Capsule Shanghai would like to extend an invitation to ARTBOOK at Hauser Wirth & Schimmel for the launch of nonsensical #3. ARTBOOK is delighted to host and celebrate three years of the collective-based journal nonsensical, its origin, direction, and raison d'être. The launch and latest issue is certain to entertain and perplex as nonsensical sets out to do and has achieved over the course of its three-year existence.

nonsensical is an annual publication of critical and experimental texts by artists, writers, and other thinkers. Founded in 2013 by artists Páll Haukur and Vivian Sming, the publication seeks to provide a place where its contributors can freely explore and experiment with language and meaning-whether in its theoretical, poetic, or narrative-based form. nonsensical is both an annual publication and a growing project space-somewhat haphazardly running its exhibition platform the Slimy Sandbox. nonsensical is interested in how language can operate outside of representational systems of meaning-making, and how language sits parallel to art. In 2015, artist Alice Wang joined the collaborative to work on special publications and events. This spring, nonsensical will participate in a residency at PRACTICE, an artist-run space located in Chinatown, New York.

Nonsensical #3, (wrong), features contributions by Evan Burrows, Dan Bustillo, Kelman Duran, Steingrímur Eyfjörð, Becket Flannery, Margaret Haines, Alexis Hudgins, Alex Jovanovich, David Muenzer, Brian O'Connell, Rusty Van Riper, Justin Tenney, Snorri Páll Úlfhildarson, and Alice Wang with Bruce Hainley.
