We are pleased to announce Leelee Chan's solo show, "Hybrid Palimpsests," at He Art Museum in Foshan, China. The exhibition will open on March 20, 2026, and last until June 30.
Leelee Chan's first museum solo exhibition brings together works developed over the past seven years, alongside three new outdoor sculptures conceived for the space. Hybrid Palimpsests explores transformation, layered time, and material memory.
Chan's sculptures weave together urban debris, ancient artifacts, and industrial products into dynamic constellations that traverse geological, cultural, and industrial timeframes. From hand-carved stone encasing stainless steel spirals to plastic shipping pallets inlaid with ancient obsidian, the exhibition reflects on extraction, circulation, and the afterlives of matter.
Rather than isolating past and present, Chan places them in the same sculptural field—inviting us to reconsider how materials carry and reshape time, and what forms of knowledge might reside beyond the human.
