Alice Wang | The Magic Hour # 5

The Magic Hour No. 5

Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 3pm - 8:30pm (a one day event)

On a mesa in the Mojave desert, 2000 ft. above sea level - surrounded by a backdrop of mountains burying themselves in their own rubble - amongst the sacred Creosote bush - a scene, set by hundreds of thousands of years - once a Paleozoic sea - on the New Moon...

Lucky Dragons will serially investigate forms of mutual cancellation and reinforcement. Micah Wood and Felicia Atkinson will have a conversation with the sun.

Tyler Matthew Oyer will perform a ritual that will set text, music, and costuming alongside the setting sun. Ian James will direct bodies in a ritualized procession that moves from one dug hole to the next.

Objects for Others will present a sound installation and performance, A being on the Sea bed. A private screening on RSVP curated by Anna Milone will explore the desert as a dreamscape, including videos by Chloe Dugit Gros and Marnie Weber followed by <<Valley of Love>> directed by Guillaume Nicloux featuring Isabele Huppert and Gerard Depardieu.
