We are pleased to announce the release of the artist book Jealous of Oysters, currently avaliable for purchase at Capsule, containing drawings from life compiled from the sketchbooks of artist Sarah Faux. While she has previously kept these images private, here they are freely strung together like one long train of thought. From sunbathing to breastfeeding to exploring the erotic, Jealous of Oysters is filled with intimate moments from Faux's inner circle. These sketches often serve as jumping-off points for her cut-outs and abstractions in oil. In this initial stage, the artist traces the contours of her loved ones, up close and from odd angles, searching for an emotional core that can slip away as fast as an oyster down the gullet.
