Untitled

The setting of Untitled (2014) is a shadowy and reflective dance studio where people are positioned in the inversion yoga pose. The footage has been inverted in postproduction, putting the viewer off-balance. The faces of the performers express the strain of their physical exertion. Channeling the force of gravity, the trembling bodies of inverted performers and the reverse bouncing tennis balls playfully bring into relief the invisible structures that shape the universe. Its material expression is a medium—linking the world of appearances to the imaginings of a buoyant world.
