The image represented on Untitled (2017) is a non-descript landscape. The viewer identifies with the figure in the foreground, possibly a human figure. The landscape itself could be a constructed landscape or a real landscape, setting us between an imaginary and real space. Particularly interested in German Romanticism, Wang's photo work recalls images seeking to capture an experience of the infinite, such as Caspar David Friedrich's mysterious painting Wanderer above the Sea of Fog, confronting the viewer with the recollection of a sublime space.
