Cai Zebin (b. 1988) is a Beijing-based visual artist originally from Shantou, Guangdong province in Southern China. He graduated from Guangdong Academy of Fine Arts in 2012.

Working primarily in painting, Cai has lately begun venturing into sculptural works. His atmospheric pieces often contain humorous titles that offset a darker undertone.

His recent series of paintings and sculptures was inspired by The Defense and other novels by Vladimir Nabokov.

His current project Laval debuts with a solo presentation at Paris Internationale in October, 2019. By placing himself between moments in the vast history of art, Cai rethinks about his own works in relation to the oeuvre of the old masters.

Selected solo includes: The Defense, Capsule Shanghai, Shanghai, China (2018); Olive, NUOART Gallery, Beijing, China (2015). He has participated in the following group shows: Night Tour of the Pearl River, Guangdong Museum, Guangzhou, China (2019); City Unbounded, Jing'an Sculpture Park, Shanghai, China (2018); The Latch, That Obscure Object of Portrait, C-Space+Local, Beijing, China (2017); “□”, A+ Contemporary, Taipei, Taiwan (2016); Hinterland Project, Times Museum, Guangzhou, China (2015).
