If you look directly at light and then look away, it travels with you, morphing from electric white into shifty after-images. Bright spots, dark spots, chromatic auras, they travel with your eye. This painting functions similarly, as sensations loosely arranged cling to the viewer as she begins to reconstruct bodies fragmented into parts. A hand here, a breast, a tiny dark hole, a hint of pattern, each familiar, the parts you see near you when you're very close to another person, or to yourself. Bright lights and black spots is decidedly sensual and persistently withholding - an open ended, spontaneous series of gestures and marks laid upon a moment of touching, being touched and slowly slowly appearing. - Sarah Faux
