Indexing an enlarged tracing of the electronic circuit of the Intel 4004 from 1971—the first-ever commercially available microprocessor, the wet-plate collodion on black glass wall piece is a hand-made record of the miniaturizing transformation that made the information revolution possible, a monumental paradigm shift in human history. Using the petrifying force of photography, the wet-plate collodion imprint turns into a sculptural relief and is transfigured into a microprocessor fossil.
