Jiang Li is part of that only generation that got affected by the Chinese one-child policy. While during 2008’s Olympic Games in China the government was preparing to show to the world how powerful and civilized China was, the artist came across some tragic stories about “forced birth control”. The paradox of these two facts happening at the same time provided Jiang Li the idea of finding some women uterus original X-ray – that he bought on an online material shop – and add five rings to it, as symbol of the Olympics and birth control.
