Continuing the series of stainless steel works, Red Sun is instead a triptych showing a sunset, a person riding a boat and at the same time peeing into the same river. It could be the representation of the artist himself. The motif of pee, recurrent in Jiang Li’s works, is a statement for the artist, who considers himself to be just some pee in the ocean – or the river – but real.
